The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has certified Indian 2 as UA, meaning that it is suitable for all age audiences. To obtain the accreditation, the makers did, however, make certain alterations, such as replacing seven expletives in both Tamil and English.

In addition to changing a lot of phrases, the censor board instructed the producers to obfuscate any bodily expose in a scenario. Additionally, it has requested that the makers enlarge the smoking disclaimers from their previous position. After all the modifications, the movie is now scheduled to be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi on July 12 throughout India.

Indian 2 is scheduled to run 180 minutes, meaning that, including the intermission, the movie will last roughly 3.5 hours. The film is the same length as the first segment, which ran for 3.5 hours in Indian (1996).

In Shankar's film Indian 2, Kamal Haasan makes a comeback as the elderly vigilante Senapathy, a fervent opponent of corruption who uses force to punish lawbreakers. In addition to Kamal, the movie has significant performances by Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The follow-up to Indian 2, which is being produced by Lyca Productions, is scheduled for release in six months. During a promotional event, Kamal declared that he preferred Indian 3 over Indian 2, and that he had only completed the second portion because he enjoyed the third.
