First Odisha Cabinet Meeting: A Significant Choice Regarding Puri Jagannath Temple

Bhubaneswar: The first Cabinet meeting of the Odisha BJP government saw the approval of a plan to establish a corpus fund for the 12th-century shrine's urgent needs as well as to reopen all four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri early on Thursday morning.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made this statement after presiding over a meeting of his ministers at the state headquarters, Lok Seva Bhawan.

"In front of all ministers, the state administration resolved to reopen all four of the Puri Jagannath temple's gates early tomorrow morning. All four gates will lead to the temple, accessible to devotees," Majhi stated.

Declaring that one of the BJP's election campaign pledges was to open all temple gates, the chief minister claimed that the devotees were facing problems due to closure of the gates.

Since the COVID-19 epidemic, the four temple gates have remained closed by the previous BJD administration. There is just one gate through which the devotees can enter, and it has been demanded that all gates be opened.

Majhi said that the state government will also take steps to raise the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy to ₹ 3100 per quintal and the department concerned has been asked to take measures in this regard.

Majhi stated that action will be taken by the state administration to increase the minimum support.
