Is Toni Kroos the piece that Germany's Euro puzzle is missing?
The playmaker, who is 34 years old and still one of the top No 8s in the world, revealed to the world what the German national team had overlooked during their disastrous 2022 World Cup campaign, in which they were unable to advance past the group stage.
"Let's get stoned." After the midfielder was persuaded to rejoin the national team by former Bayern Munich coach and current Germany coach Toni Kroos, that is what the legendary German told Julian Nagelsmann. In 2021, Kroos declared his retirement following a devastating 0–2 defeat to England in the Round of 16 of the previous European Championship.
