Nifty falls under 22,750 and the Sensex plummets by over 500 points: Loss of Rs 1.3L cr in investor wealth
In Wednesday's late-morning trading, domestic stocks suffered a significant decline led by stocks in the banking, automotive, and IT industries. The larger NSE Nifty index down 168 points, or 0.73 percent, to 22,721 levels, while the 30-share BSE Sensex pack fell 530 points, or 0.71 percent, to trade at 74,640. A little over Rs 1.3 lakh crore of the BSE market capitalization (m-cap) was lost as a result of the sharp decline in local bourses.
