Passengers on turbulence-hit SQ321 can get compensation and a full refund from Singapore Airlines.

The 211 passengers on Singapore Airlines' turbulence-plagued London to Singapore trip last month, which resulted in one passenger's death and others injuries, were offered monetary compensation and a complete refund of their airfare on Tuesday.

Extreme turbulence was experienced by Flight SQ321, which was traveling from London to Singapore, on May 21. When the Boeing 777-300ER plane made an emergency landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, it had 211 passengers and 18 staff members on board. One man died and numerous others were injured as the passengers and crew were flung up to the plane's ceiling and then fell back down.

It further stated, "This will be a portion of the ultimate compensation that these passengers will receive."

All passengers on Flight SQ321 will receive a full refund of their money, even if they were not injured.

According to UK or EU standards, they would also be compensated for delays, the SIA stated. There was no mention of pay for the eighteen crew members on Flight SQ321, according to a report from Channel News Asia.

The national airline of Singapore reported that, in addition, it gave each passenger SGD $1,000 to cover their immediate expenses when they left Bangkok.

It further stated that, upon request, it arranged for the family members of injured passengers to travel to Bangkok and paid for their medical bills.

According to the statement, "SIA remains committed to supporting the affected passengers who were on board SQ321."

It also stated that "all affected passengers should have received information on how to proceed with their claims, along with their offers of compensation, via email."
