'Pushpa 2: The Rule' starring Allu Arjun will now be released on December 6.

"Pushpa 2: The Rule," helmed by Sukumar, is a follow-up to Arjun's "Pushpa 1: The Rise," which became a national hit upon its December 2021 premiere.

The movie's new release date—August 15 instead of August 15—was revealed by production banner Mythri Movie Makers in a post on X on Monday night.

"We want to provide the best for you. The line forms in anticipation of a spectacular show on the giant screens. The global premiere of #Pushpa2TheRule is scheduled for December 6, 2024. He will have an amazing reign. He will govern in a way never seen before, the company announced alongside a fresh poster.

In a statement, Mythri Movie Makers gave an explanation for why the movie's release had been delayed.

"One of the most awaited Indian movies is 'Pushpa 2: The Rule.'" In light of Pushpa: The Rise's enormous success, we now have even more pressure to provide quality. We've been working nonstop to finish the film and get it out on schedule.

"However, due to the remaining shoot and subsequent post-production work, we will not be releasing the film on August 15th, 2024," the company said.
