The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam to applicants for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other relevant programs in public and private universities around the nation. Shivangi Mishra and others filed a plea in which they sought an order for a new examination, raising as parties the NTA, the sanctity of the test, and the issue of paper leaks.

The plea claimed that numerous instances of paper leaks were discovered by the petitioners, indicating that the NEET-UG exam, which was administered on May 5, was rife with irregularities.

The purported NEET paper leak breached Article 14 of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to equality, by giving certain candidates an unfair edge over those who choose to take the test fairly. The plea, submitted through attorney Usha Nandini V on June 1, would be heard this week by a vacation bench.
