According to Samir Modi, his mother plotted to attack him. This has made the inheritance fight within the late KK Modi's family more intense. The Economic Times stated that Samir, KK Modi's younger son, reported something to the police in Delhi.

"The event occurred on Thursday while I attempted to access the GP board meeting that was supposed to take place in Jasola, Delhi. Bina Modi's PSO stopped me from going into the meeting. He attempted to shove me when I insisted, telling me that I couldn't get inside the board meeting, Modi told ET.
Samir Modi declined his mother's offer to purchase his stake in the company in the wake of the alleged attack. A Godfrey Phillips representative refuted the claims in the meanwhile.
