Technical problems cause Western Railway's Mumbai local train services to be interrupted.

Due to technical difficulties following the cutting of a cable at the Borivali station in Mumbai, local train services on the Western Railway network were interrupted on Monday morning, according to officials.

One of the busiest train stations in north Mumbai is Borivali, where a lot of commuters and business travelers use the local train services every day.

According to a Western Railway representative, the cable was severed at the Borivali station, making some track-changing points non-operational and prohibiting suburban trains from operating from platforms 1 and 2.

The official stated that trains were running from the station's remaining three to eight platforms.

In order to restore normalcy, restoration work was prioritized and the impacted locations clamped.

The Western Railway daily operates more than 1,300 suburban services and around 30 lakh commuters travel on its network, spread between Churchgate in south Mumbai and Dahanu in neighbouring Palghar district.
