Telangana Fake Medicine Factory Found, Two Arrested

Hyderabad: The Telangana Drugs Control Administration and the Pet Basheerabad police conducted a combined operation on Thursday, raiding a manufacturing site in Dhulapally, Medchal, and seizing counterfeit medications valued at Rs 23 lakh and equipment valued at Rs 25 lakh. While Nihal of Delhi, the primary culprit who is suspected of distributing counterfeit medications throughout the nation, is still at large, police have detained Gopal Girneni, 42, of the Mulu district and Bokka Ramakrishna, 40, of the East Godavari district. Girneni has been producing plastic molding equipment for surgical usage since 2001, according to Medchel DCP N. Koti Reddy. However, during the Covid-19 outbreak, the company had financial problems. Nihal contacted Gopal with the plan to manufacture counterfeit medications, pledging to provide the packaging and raw ingredients.
