Srinagar: Following a violent attack on the Kupwara Police Station, a FIR has been filed against three Army Lieutenant Colonels and thirteen other people for attempted murder and dacoity. The event happened on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. It is said that a Territorial Army jawan was questioned by the Jammu and Kashmir Police regarding an alleged narcotics case, which set off the incident. A number of armed and uniformed soldiers from the 160 Territorial Army, led by senior Indian Army officials, are seen storming the police station in a now-viral footage of the incident. The incident involved the Territorial Army, a part-time volunteer reserve force that supported the Indian Army. The armed group that broke into the police station grounds is named in the FIR as being led by Lieutenant Colonels Ankit Sood, Rajiv Chauhan, and Nikhil. The gang allegedly used rifle butts, sticks, and kicks to initiate an unprovoked attack on police officers.
