Heatwave In Northern States; Heavy Rain Likely In West Bengal, NE
Delhi, New: When Cyclone Remal weakens into a deep depression, there will probably still be a lot of rain in some areas of West Bengal and the northeastern states of Manipur and Nagaland, and there will probably still be a lot of heat in places like Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and others. Over the next five days, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are expected to see severe rainfall, according to a forecast released by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday. "Squally wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Eastern Assam and Meghalaya and Mizoram" , IMD stated. It is expected that severe rains may continue in some areas of West Bengal and the northeastern states as cyclonic storm Remal weakens and transforms into a deep depression. At least 37 people were killed by Cyclone Remal's intense rainfall and thunderstorms.
