9 trekkers from Bengaluru killed in Uttarakhand; 4 more bodies discovered
Those from Bengaluru were among a group of nineteen individuals from The Karnataka Mountaineering Association who were keen trekkers. The group was traveling to Sahastra Tal in Uttarkashi by foot.

Nine hikers from Bengaluru perished in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi on Tuesday afternoon after their 22-person team was struck by inclement weather during a trekking adventure to Sahastra Tal. This was confirmed by officials on Thursday with the discovery of four additional remains.
The following citizens of Bengaluru have been identified as the deceased: Padmanabha K P (50), Sindhu Wakelam (44), Padmini Hegde (34), Vinayak Mungurwadi (52), Sujata Mungurwadi (52), Anitha Rangappa (55), Padmanabha Sudhakar (71), and Padmanabha K P (53).
The bodies of Padmanabha, Prasad, Rangappa, and Hegde were found early on Thursday morning, while five other victims had already been found. The team's other members have all been saved.
