The BJP, which left the new Parliament building in an enthusiastic spirit in February singing 'Ab ki baar 400 paar', was rather muted, with the exception of one round of 'Modi Modi' when Narendra Modi, elected Prime Minister for a third term, stood to take office.

After a decade, the opposition in Lok Sabha has numbers and a voice.

"The winner comes second."

This was Lal Krishna Advani during the 1989 Lok Sabha elections, when the BJP grew from 2 to 85 seats in the House, marking the beginning of its march to power.
