Increased death toll from Assam floods to 27; around 4 lakh affected, 1.71 lakh relocated

Silchar: Assam's floods have claimed 27 lives so far this year, impacting at least 390,000 people in 19 districts, according to reports released on Friday night by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).According to officials, just 15,160 people have sought refuge in makeshift relief camps out of a total displacement of over 171,000 people. Karimganj has the most relief camps—245 total—of the 17 districts in which the state government has established them.
