On the fringes of the G7 Summit on Friday, Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
New Delhi: During the G7 conference, a video and a selfie featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni went viral on social media.
The two leaders are seen grinning in the photo, which was taken on Friday by Ms. Meloni outside the summit in Apulia, Italy. As Ms. Meloni says, "Hello from the Melodi team," they can be seen waving at the camera in the video.
Following the bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Ms. Meloni last year, the moniker "Melodi" became widely used on social media.
The two presidents' selfie from the sidelines of the COP28 climate conference in Dubai last year went viral online.
Ms. Meloni had written, "Good friends at COP28. #Melodi," as the photo's description.
At Ms. Meloni's invitation, PM Modi traveled to Italy early on Friday in order to attend the G7 Outreach summit.
After taking office as prime minister for the third time in a row, this is his first international travel.
