Hathras Satsang stampede claimed 121 lives.
Days after a large-scale stampede at a satsang in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras claimed 121 lives, the UP Police on Thursday detained six members of the preacher Bhole Baba's organizing committee. Police were stationed outside the ashram. The six individuals who were taken into custody were all "sevadars," or volunteers, during the satsang.

Since the rush at the preacher's congregation in Harthras, police officers have been stationed outside the ashram. Rahul Gandhi met the relatives of the stampede victims during his Friday visit to Hathras. To meet some of the impacted families, he also traveled to Aligarh.

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, traveled to Hathras on Friday in the wake of the stampede that claimed 121 lives. The head of Congress had a meeting with the victims' relatives. He also met several impacted families in Aligarh earlier today.

Rahul Gandhi said, "I don't want to say this from a political prism, but there have been deficiencies on the part of the administration and the important thing is that maximum compensation should be given as they are poor families," after visiting with the families of the stampede victims. I kindly ask Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to generously offer compensation."
