New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is traveling to Italy for the Group of Seven summit, or G7, which is expected to be dominated by discussions about a ceasefire in Gaza and Ukraine.
Leaders from the seven participating nations—the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, France, and the European Union—will fly in for the summit, which takes place from June 13 to June 15 at the opulent Borgo Egnazia resort in the Apulia area.

According to ambassador Vani Rao, India, which is one of the outreach countries invited to the G7 summit, has defense and maritime cooperation on its agenda.

"We want to establish defense and security as a key tenet here. We are looking at crucial technology cooperation, connecting the two nations' defense industry, and maritime cooperation," Ms. Rao told ANI.

According to Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, PM Modi, a special invitee, will go to Italy on Thursday with a high-level group. This will be his first abroad trip since taking office a third time.

According to Ms. Rao, he will follow up on some of the major topics covered during India's G20 leadership.

India has often stated that communication and diplomacy are the best ways to end the situation, even if Ukraine is anticipated to be a topic of discussion during the summit. "We have consistently been in the forefront to talk about not just the conflict, the need for dialogue and diplomacy but also the way the conflict is impacting on the priorities and interests of the developing countries," said Mr Kwatra.
