Tripura Police detain Indian tout and four Bangladeshi women nationals

Agartala: Tripura police arrested four Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian tout at Agartala Railway Station while they were attempting to leave the state by train, according to a police official from Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) Station on Wednesday.

Meem Sultana (23), Rubaiya Sultana alias Asha (20), Ritu Begam (28), and Jyoti Khatun (20) were Bangladeshi residents, while Mohammed Kashem Miah (24), the Indian tout, hailed from Sepahijala district in Tripura.

Tapash Das, the Agartala GRP station in-charge, reported that the four Bangladeshi women had entered India illegally with the help of the Indian tout.

Das informed reporters, "Two of them intended to travel to Ahmedabad, while the other two aimed for Pune. We apprehended them on Tuesday. A case was registered against them at the government railway police station. We presented them in court on Wednesday."

Das stated that they found and seized mobile phones and Indian currency from the individuals.

Earlier, nine Bangladeshi nationals, including six women who illegally entered India, were captured at Agartala Railway Station while trying to flee.

Similarly, on May 30, three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested at Chandrapur Inter-State Bus Terminus on the outskirts of Agartala while attempting to leave the state.
