Word battle between the BJP and the opposition on the Delhi L-G move against Arundhati Roy
As per the directives of a Delhi court, a FIR was filed against Arundhati Roy and Sheikh Showkat Hussain, according to Raj Niwas officials.
Following Delhi lieutenant governor VK Saxena's approval to prosecute author Arundhati Roy and former Kashmiri professor Sheikh Showkat Hussain under the strict Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for allegedly making provocative speeches at an event in New Delhi in 2010, the Opposition and the Bharatiya Janata Party have been in a verbal spat.Raj Niwas officials stated on Friday that the FIR against Arundhati Roy and Sheikh Showkat Hussain was filed in accordance with the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate, New Delhi's directives.
