Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, established by IIT alumni Prem Watsa, has awarded a $5 million research grant to the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre (SGBC) at IIT Madras. The center was founded in 2022 with the goal of visualizing the human brain at the molecular level. To this end, a special technology platform has been developed. In 1971, Prem Watsa received a first-class degree in chemical engineering, and in 1999, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
