Sourav Ganguly, a former Indian cricket player, supported Gautam Gambhir, the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, and claimed Gambhir would make an excellent replacement for Rahul Dravid as coach of the national side.

"Gambir will be a good coach, if he has applied," Ganguly said reporters during a Kolkata event. After ten years, Gambhir recently assisted KKR in winning their third Indian Premier League trophy.

This newspaper previously reported that India was considering hiring Stephen Fleming of the Chennai Super Kings as their head coach. But Ganguly held a different opinion. He declared, "I support an Indian coach."
