The Ministry of Education has named former Indian Administrative Officer Pradeep Singh Kharola as the new director general of the National Testing Agency in the midst of the cancellation and postponing of the NEET-UG, UGC NET, and CSIR UGC NET exams. He has taken the place of Uttar Pradesh native Subodh Kumar Singh.Singh has been placed on mandatory leave in the Department of Personnel and Training by the Ministry while the purported paper leak issue is still being investigated. In November 2017, Kharola, an IAS officer from the Karnataka Cadre who was appointed in 1985, took over as the head of Air India. In addition, he served as Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation's managing director.
