Judge rejects NEET applicant's argument of "torn OMR sheet" and "forged documents."

Ayushi Patel, a NEET candidate, filed a case, but the Allahabad High Court dismissed it on Tuesday due to inconsistencies in her explanation of an OMR answer sheet that was damaged.
Patel said that because of a torn OMR sheet, the National Testing Agency (NTA) neglected to announce her result. Based on the answer key, she also stated that she had achieved a score of 715; however, the result she received had a different application number and only 335 marks. The assertions were made in a video that was posted to social media and went viral during a heated debate about alleged "irregularities" in the 2024 NEET-UG exam.
Patel asked for an investigation of the NTA, a manual review of her OMR sheet, and an end to the continued admission counseling in her appeal.
But the NTA produced the original OMR sheet—which revealed no damage—in response to a court order. Declaring it a case of "forged documents," the court rejected the petition and allowed the NTA to proceed with its legal proceedings.
"The petitioner has submitted forged documents, and in such a situation this court cannot stop NTA from taking legal action against the student," the judge stated.
The NTA informed the judge that they intended to take Patel to court. The court granted Patel's attorney's plea to withdraw the petition.
Patel's assertions have already been denied by the NTA, which provided her actual score was lower than claimed and the OMR sheet remained intact.
