Paradise: A top-tier political-personal drama of the year!
Movie review of Paradise: The picture, which weaves together a political-personal story with beautifully calibrated emotions, well-judged acting, and a dramatic, frightening ending, is masterfully plotted and executed by Sri Lankan director Vithanage.

This one-line description of Prasanna Vithanage's magnificent Paradise wouldn't be, technically speaking, off the mark, but it would do it no justice as what begins as a lovely anniversary get-away evolves into a nightmare.
The film, which stars Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran as a Malayali couple arriving in a picturesque area of Sri Lanka, makes clear right away what makes it unique: yes, the Ramayana tour the two have signed up for is guaranteed to be an experience of a lifetime, and their temporary residence, the Sylvan Estate, is surrounded by lush greenery and undulating hills.
