Swapnil Singh of RCB, an IPL late bloomer, almost quit to play in the Bangladesh League.

At 33 years old, Swapnil Singh is having one of his greatest IPL seasons as a player for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). A late bloomer in the IPL, three years ago he was on the verge of quitting to play 50-over league cricket in Bangladesh. The all-rounder with a spin bowling economy rate of 8.76 has claimed six wickets for the RCB and has occasionally started the bowling. After finishing last in the league, RCB won six straight games to earn a spot in the playoffs. He participated in all of those games. Although Swapnil has played for IPL teams before, this is the first time he has had a sustained run and an impact. Swapnil debuted for Punjab in the IPL in 2016 and then played two games for Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) last year. He was first a net bowler for LSG.
