In an attempt to halt the implementation of a law approved last month that would have required the Chinese owner of TikTok to either sell the app or have it blocked, the company is suing the US government. The case contends that the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act violates the First Amendment's guarantees of free speech and was filed on Tuesday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. According to the lawsuit, the law violates the First Amendment in a "unprecedented" way.
