According to figures from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the current account deficit (CAD) in Q4 FY2023 was $1.3 billion, or 0.2% of GDP. In Q3 FY24, the CAD was $8.7 billion, or 1% of GDP.
In the January-March 2024 quarter, the country's current account balance showed a surplus of $5.7 billion, or 0.6% of GDP, due to a smaller merchandise trade deficit.
