Following an allegation made by a Pakistani journalist against the Afghanistan cricket team, Team India's top off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin wrote to Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), requesting a special request. The contentious tweet was made in the wake of Afghanistan's thrilling 21-run victory over Australia in the ongoing T20 World Cup Super Eight stage, which preserved Afghanistan's chances and nearly eliminated Australia.

Wajahat Kazmi, a journalist from Pakistan, made the absurd claim that Afghanistan could beat any team in the world, with the exception of India. He implied that Afghan players would not want to lose to India since they had lucrative contracts with the Indian Premier League. Ashwin was so incensed by this baseless charge that he made an appeal to Elon Musk to make sure that false posts like this are removed from his X timeline.

"I should have the right to control who enters my home, but I can't tell you what to do, @elonmusk. My schedule, my choice," Ashwin penned.

"I can't tell you what to do, @elonmusk, but I should have the right to decide who enters my house." My timetable, my decision," wrote Ashwin.

Australia's response was an early collapse in the chase. Key blows were delivered by Naveen ul Haq (3/20), who removed Mitchell Marsh (12 off 9) and Travis Head (0 off 3). After that, David Warner (3 off 8) was decisively removed by Mohammad Nabi, putting Australia at 32/3.
