Who will reduce the BRS vote share, the BJP or the Congress? Election setbacks, according to KCR, are nothing new for the BRS, and the results of the Parliamentary elections won't discourage it either. There are 17 parliamentary seats in Telangana State. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and Congress are the three main parties running in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. While Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is also running, the party is only running for a Lok Sabha seat in Hyderabad.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now BRS) gained both of the State's majority of seats in the last General elections. The December Telangana Assembly Elections-2023, however, brought about a shift in the political environment. Authority in the State was asserted by Congress. This has increased confidence inside the party. Eventually, a number of BRS leaders joined the Bharatiya Janata Party or Congress.
Lok Sabha Election Results 2024:
The Congress party introduced social programs aimed at helping those below the poverty line, including free bus tickets for women, gas cylinders for ₹500, and free electricity for up to 200 units. Congress faced a fierce challenge from BJP despite their recent victory and four months of control in the State.
Leading figures from both political parties conducted campaign rallies in this area prior to the elections: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah campaigned for the BJP candidates and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi canvassed for the party’s contestants.
According to exit polls, the BJP could secure a record number of seats in the State.The three major parties' leaders expressed confidence in their ability to secure the majority of seats.
The BJP fielded classical dancer and entrepreneur Kompella Madhavi Latha in the Hyderabad constituency to challenge AIMIM chief and current MP Asaduddin Owaisi. This constituency, which is primarily home to Muslims, has always been an AIMIM stronghold. After his father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, represented the city in the Lok Sabha for six terms in a row from 1984 to 2004, Mr. Owaisi has held the position for four terms since 2004. In Secunderabad, the BJP has put up current Member of Parliament G. Kishan Reddy as its candidate, hoping to defeat BRS's T Padma Rao Goud and win a third term in office.
Schedule for the 2024 General Election
In Nizamabad, BRS leader Bajireddy Goverdhan and Congressman T Jeevan Reddy were up against BJP leader Dharmapuri Arvind. Former BJP state president and current MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar ran against INC's Velichala Rajender Rao and BRS's B Vinod Kumar in Karimnagar. In the 2024 elections, Mr. Sanjay Kumar hopes to win the Karimnagar seat for a second time in a row. Three candidates competed in the Zahirabad constituency: Suresh Kumar Shetkar of the Congress, B. B. Patil of the BJP, and Gali Anil Kumar of the BRS. Early in the year, Mr. Patil joined the BJP. He had previously won the Zahirabad constituency on a BRS ticket in two general elections.
