One day ahead of schedule, on Thursday, the Supreme Court postponed the release of the anticipated movie Hamare Baarah. According to an article in Bar and Bench, the court requested that the Bombay High Court rule swiftly on a suit alleging that the movie was disparaging towards Islam.
Following the hearing of a petition challenging the Bombay High Court's judgment to not stop the film's release, the Supreme Court rendered its ruling. The court dismissed the allegation made by the movie's legal representative that they had eliminated all offensive scenes from the advertising materials in accordance with the Bombay High Court's ruling, stating, "We saw the teaser this morning and all scenes are there."
