The BJP leads overall, but Congress gains a larger majority in SC and ST seats.
With a margin of 3.17 lakh votes, the Cong won 20 of the 84 SC seats and the BJP won 30, totaling 2.91 lakh votes; of the 47 ST seats, the Cong won 12 with a margin of 4.29 lakh votes and the BJP won 25, totaling 3.31 lakh votes.
The incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 240 seats in the recently ended 18th Lok Sabha elections, a significant decrease from their 303 seats in the 2019 elections. The main opposition party, the Congress, on the other hand, nearly doubled its 2019 total of 52 seats with 99 seats.
In comparison to the 2019 elections, the average victory margins for the Congress and the BJP in 2024 were both higher.
