Lahore: On Saturday, authorities in the Punjab province of Pakistan declared that they had arrested 22 suspected terrorists from ISIS, TTP, and other outlawed groups, thwarting a significant plot of terror.

A spokesman for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) stated that the agency carried out 152 intelligence-based operations across several districts in Punjab this week, apprehending 22 individuals suspected of being terrorists from ISIS, TTP, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ). According to the spokesperson, the accused terrorists were taken into custody in Lahore, Attock, Sheikhupura, Muzaffargarh, Nankana Sahib, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalnagar, and Rawalpindi.

They have allegedly been found in possession of 1,645 grams of explosives, three hand grenades, one IED bomb, twelve detonators, a 32-foot safety fuse wire, a firearm, and prohibited literature.

According to the spokesperson, "the terrorists who were arrested had intended to sabotage in Punjab and wanted to target prominent installations and personalities."


He claimed that 19 cases had been filed by the police against the terrorists, and they had been moved to an undisclosed place so they could be questioned.
