Hyderabad: The candidates for teaching have taken to the streets once more, holding a "kneel down" protest near Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's home on Wednesday. They are displeased with the delay in filling all of the teacher jobs at the residential educational institutions.

The candidates knelt down and begged the Chief Minister to offer them positions.

This is the candidates' second such protest in as many weeks, demanding that the Congress government fill all 9,210 teaching positions without any backlog.

The High Court's interim orders, which required the government to give consideration to deserving candidates for non-joining, fallout, or relinquished posts of degree lecturers, junior lecturers, postgraduate teachers, trained graduate teachers, librarians, and physical director posts, were also demanded by those vying for teaching jobs.

They demanded that a down merit list be released right away, making the following candidates eligible for the positions.

"We have spent the last five months looking for work. We do not want free jobs; instead, we want all positions to be filled on a down-balanced merit list. We'll stay here till there's a down payment.
