Coach Trott claims that Afghanistan's batsmen failed the Bumrah test.

Barbados, Bridgetown Afghanistan's coach Jonathan Trott expressed disappointment with his batsmen' shot choices after their team's T20 World Cup Super Eight match loss to India on Thursday, claiming they did not carry out their preparations to face Jasprit Bumrah.

Coach Trott claims that Afghanistan's batsmen failed the Bumrah test.

With a deft change of speed, Bumrah fooled Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Afghanistan's tournament top scorer, and defeated Hazratullah Zazai, the other opener, with an off-cutter that gave him the advantage at point.

Trott expressed his disappointment with some of the shots and decision-making during their 47-run defeat in the Group 1 match.

Bumrah will undoubtedly be an important bowler for any team. He's important to India, so we have to play him more effectively. His numbers seem to indicate that we didn't really play him.

It was evident that we had discussed it and our plan for playing him. We were therefore unable to carry that out, which is really regrettable."
