Fardeen Khan on career nosedive: "Salman Khan stayed in touch; it was scary to come back."

The actor Fardeen Khan, who just returned to the industry with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi, expressed his tremendous sorrow in leaving the business despite receiving offers for roles in movies up till roughly ten years ago. The actor claimed to have "taken off," moving from Mumbai, leading many filmmakers to believe he was no longer interested in performing. Fardeen, who was a prolific film producer in the 2000s, released his most recent feature, Dulha Mil Gaya, in 2010. He made a comeback with Heeramandi, a supporting part film, after a 14-year hiatus.

"I kind of took off without warning. Fardeen Khan recounted to Pinkvilla, "I used to come back to Mumbai every few months, but I pretty much just took off."
