Haryana's BJP tally has dropped due to farmers' anger and their "support of Chhattis Biradari."

Farmers' resentment at how they were handled during the 2020 agricultural uprisings, which resulted in the deaths of over 700 farmers, and the continued unrest along the Haryana-Punjab border is one of the primary contributing factors.

Haryana's BJP tally has dropped due to farmers' anger and their "support of Chhattis Biradari."

Many have been stunned by the BJP's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, as they went from winning all 10 seats in 2019 to just five. These figures are significant since they may impact the results of the state's October Assembly elections.

The Congress saw an increase in its vote percentage from 28% in 2019 to 43%, while the BJP saw a decline in its vote share from 58% to 46%. According to BJP officials, the state BJP unit convened as a result of this turnaround to devise a campaign aimed at attracting voters who may be feeling disenchanted with a government that has ruled for two terms.

The JJP, which it ousted in March when it reshuffled the Cabinet and installed Nayab Singh Saini in place of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, no longer supports the BJP. Last month, three Independent MLAs changed their allegiance from the Saini government to the Congress, resulting in even more significant events. Dushyant did the same.

Right now, the opposition wants a floor test to find out who controls the majority in the Saini government. They have pushed for the dissolution of the administration and new elections under Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.

The Congress appears optimistic about the results of the upcoming Assembly votes, given these considerations and the victory.

The Indian Express was informed by a top Congressman that the party was certain and had won the support of Dalits and other communities in the parliamentary elections.

This time, the Congress secured the Lok Sabha seats of Sirsa and Ambala, which were reserved by the SC. Despite the fact that the party received support from all 36 communities in Haryana, also known as the chhattis biradari, the Congress has won in Ambala and Sirsa, demonstrating the support of the SC, ST, and OBC groups. We have mentioned and will continue to raise issues with price increases, unemployment, the condition of farmers, inadequate infrastructure, and law and order, a senior Congress leader told The Indian Express.

Why did the BJP lose in Haryana?

The BJP's dismal performance appears to have been influenced by a number of issues. Farmers' resentment over the way they were handled during the 2020 agricultural uprisings, which resulted in the deaths of over 700 farmers, and the ongoing unrest on the Haryana-Punjab border are two of the primary ones. Furthermore, it seems that the accusations made by Haryana women wrestlers against former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh were heard in the state.

The opposition has also pointed up issues with the Haryana government's programs. One of the central tenets of the Congress is the controversial Parivar Pehchan Patra, which was implemented in 2020. It has been referred to as a violation of the right to privacy by the opposition. Furthermore, there have been more public complaints about the scheme, indicating that family IDs have a high rate of inaccuracy. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the former chief minister and leader of the opposition, has been instrumental in helping the Congress craft a campaign centred around these themes.

Additionally, Hooda personally selected people such as Varun Chaudhry from Ambala, Jai Prakash from Hisar, his son Deepender Hooda from Rohtak, and Satpal Brahmchari from Sonipat. Everybody
