How Pakistan's adoration for Virat Kohli blossomed
The stadium will be packed with supporters wearing green jerseys on Virat's matchday in Pakistan, but with a twist: the name and number on their backs will be Kohli and 18. This is according to former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali.
There isn't a single game that Virat Kohli has played in Pakistan. He played there just once, in 2006, with the India U-19 team. After the 2008 Mumbai attacks, India severed its cricket connections with Pakistan, and Kohli has only appeared in a small number of international matches (16 ODIs and 10 T20Is) against them. In spite of this, Virat Kohli has an enormous fan base in Pakistan.
