K'taka HC suspends BSY's arrest in the Pocso case.
In a lawsuit filed under the Pocso Act, the Karnataka High Court on Friday stopped the CID from detaining former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
The Karnataka High Court, which criticized the state for its tactics and the necessity of detaining the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, on Friday restrained the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) from arresting former chief minister BS Yediyurappa in a case filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The court also noted Yediyurappa's willingness to appear for questioning on June 17."I am just wild thinking, but if an ex-chief minister is treated that way, what will happen to a layman? During the hearing of numerous petitions from the accused for anticipatory relief and the quashing of the first information report (FIR), a bench of justice S Krishna Dixit stated, "There is doubt that there is something hidden in this matter given the way things have happened."
