Salman Khan To Cops On Firing "Slept Late, Woke Up To Gunshots"
On June 4, a four-person team, which included a Mumbai Crime Branch officer, went to Mr. Khan's residence to get his and his brother Arbaaz's statements, according to the police.
The actor Salman Khan has disclosed that on April 14, he heard gunfire coming from his Bandra neighborhood residence in Mumbai. Two motorcycles had opened fire. Police allege the shooters, hired by Lawrence Bishnoi's gang, had conspired to kill the 58-year-old film star.
On June 4, a four-person team, which included a Mumbai Crime Branch officer, went to Salman Khan's home to take his and his brother Arbaaz Khan's statements. Six hours were spent questioning the brothers. According to reports, Salman Khan thanked the cops for their assistance after realizing his life was in jeopardy.
Salman Khan admitted to the police in his testimony that the night before the incident, he had gone to bed late following a party. The noise produced by a bullet that was later found to have hit his balcony woke him, he told the police. The actor said after he was jolted awake he went to the balcony to check and looked outside but did not see anyone.
When the shots were fired, Arbaaz Khan, who was at his home in Juhu, stated he knew that his brother had previously received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
While his brother was questioned for two hours, Salman Khan's statement was recorded for three hours. According to the authorities, the brothers were questioned more than 150 times.
Due to his advanced age, their father Salim Khan was not present at the Bandra apartment when the incident occurred, but he was there anyway. His statement will be recorded by the crime branch if necessary, according to authorities.
