What physiological effects result from having avian flu?
Bird flu, which is brought on by strains like H5N1, can have symptoms that are more severe than those of the regular flu, according to public health specialist Dr Jagadish J Hiremath.
Bird flu, sometimes referred to as avian influenza, is a virus that predominantly affects birds but can also occasionally infect humans when they come into close contact with sick birds or surfaces that have come into contact with their feces, mucus, or saliva.
We learn of hundreds of these cases each year, in which the avian flu virus is able to infect a human host by jumping species. The body then experiences a strong and even fatal reaction.
