WHO confirms H9N2 avian flu case in India in human.

A four-year-old child in West Bengal has been diagnosed with bird flu, which is caused by the H9N2 virus, according to a report released by the World Health Organization on Tuesday.

According to the WHO, the youngster was diagnosed and treated three months after being taken to the pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) at a nearby hospital for persistently severe respiratory problems, a high fever, and abdominal cramps in February.

The patient was exposed to poultry both at home and in his surroundings, and according to the FDA, none of his family members or other contacts had reported any respiratory issues.
