According to the police, a US woman has claimed that a Rajasthani store owner tricked her into paying Rs 6 crore for phony silver and gold jewelry valued at Rs 300. According to NDTV, Cherish claimed she found out the ornaments weren't real when they were on show at a recent US exhibition.

It appears that the jewelry was purchased at a store in Jaipur's Johri Bazaar. In order to confront Gaurav Soni, the shop owner, Cherish flew down to the city. However, after he denied her claims, Cherish went to the Jaipur police and asked for assistance from the US embassy, which then pushed the Jaipur Police to investigate.
