Ram Mandir momentum doesn't help the BJP win in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh
Lallu Singh of the BJP lost the Faizabad constituency in Uttar Pradesh by around 54,000 votes to Awadhesh Prasad of the Samajwadi Party. The district of Faizabad, where Ram Mandir is situated, was renamed Ayodhya in 2018.

In the Faizabad seat, which includes Ram Mandir, Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad defeated BJP candidate Lallu Singh in the Lok Sabha elections. What was originally known as the Faizabad district is where the city of Ayodhya is situated.
In 2018, the district of Faizabad was formally renamed as Ayodhya. The Lok Sabha seat is still known as Faizabad, notwithstanding.
Election Commission statistics indicates that Samajwadi Party candidate Awashesh Prasad defeated Lallu Singh by a substantial margin of 5,54,289 votes.
