The career of the composer pair Nadeem-Shravan, who created one of the most iconic soundtracks for Hindi films, was launched by Mahesh Bhatt's romance movie Aashiqui.

Says Lalit Pandit, "They would go to Dubai, buy Pak cassettes," in reference to Nadeem-Shravan's use of Pakistani tunes as inspiration for the Aashiqui soundtrack.

With regard to the hit Aashiqui album, one half of the Jatin-Lalit composer combo Lalit Pandit has casually revealed details. He claims that the original songwriters, Nadeem-Shravan, stole Pakistani music for "many" of the songs in the renowned 1990 soundtrack.

The romantic drama Aashiqui, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, launched the career of composers Nadeem-Shravan. They created one of the most iconic soundtracks in Hindi cinema history for the film, which included songs sung by Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal, including "Bas Ek Sanam Chaahiye," "Nazar Ke Saamne," "Main Duniya Bhula Doonga," and "Dheere Dheere."
